Description

An avatar I did for a good friend of mine, ~mcivercork. He wanted something slick and blue... I might do that later - I got this idea though and went with it instead. Tell me what you think.

UPDATE: Ok, devART sucks when it comes to updating stuff, so find the new version of this here.

I think this is an awesome idea. And very well done right now. Some points to make note of.... This is gonna be long, so you might want to get some food first. ;-) (Wink)

It looks to me like you are useing a muti-color, or at least a greyscale palette. I didn't take the time to download it and look at that information myself, so just correct me if I'm wrong. I also see that the image size is ALMOST too big (perhaps it is) to use as a DA icon. I mean filesize here, not res. DA limits icons to 15K, and that's where this image lands. As a possible solution to this, try reducing the color schemes to 2 colors, because that's all there are really, and if you do plan to add color or something, reduce the palette to JUST those colors you use. Also, give every frame it's own palette, so as not to load all these colors you may not be using throughout the whole animation.

If you have any questions about this so far, note me, and I'll try to elaborate. This is also sounding good, so it'll probably go into my planned tutorial. ;-) (Wink)

Next, it the animation itself. I'm not sure what program you used for it, but it you can give different wait times between frames, you may want to slow down the moving of the music bars. The clef coming up is spot on. Really, I don't think I could have done that part any better. However, the rest of it kind of flies by too fast. If you can only set one frame speed for every frame (a global setting) you may want to either add some extra frames in between to slow it down, or just slwo the whoooole thing down. The first option would require more work, but in the end, it would look much nicer. Also, the wait time from end to the next beginning is too long. I just can't look at white like that for such a long time. Shorten that up a bit as well.

I think that's all for this image. Hope you understand it all, and good luck. :-) (Smile)

Again- VERY nice woprk woth what you've got so far.
